Pranayama – yogic breathing practices Workshop

Yoga science of breathing is called prayanama. Oxygen is the most vial nutrient to our body. It is essential for the integrity of the brain, nerves, glands and internal organs.

We can do without food for weeks and without water for days, but without oxygen; we will die within a few minutes.

When we breath well we feel well.

 

We will explore the main types of pranayama exercises such as:

  1. Resetting an inverted breathing pattern
  2. Full yogic breath
  3. Ujjayi Pranayama – ocean breath
  4. Nadi Sodhana – alternate nostril breathing
  5. Bhramari Pranayama – humming-bee breath
  6. Kapalabhati Pranayama – lung-cleansing/ breath of fire
  7. Shitali Pranayama – cooling breath
  8. Digra Pranayama – three part breathing
  9. Bhastrika Pranayama – bellows breathing
  10. Murcha Pranayama – chin press breath
  11. Abdominal lift – Uddiyana Bandha

This class is suitable for everyone, there are no yoga postures or movements in this class. You will just sit or lye back.

Booking is open to members and non members alike.
